Individuals
We provide a full personal client service to all kinds of individuals. We take time to understand even our ‘smallest’ clients, to ensure the best advice and recommendations are made – tailored to YOUR circumstances.
All our clients are dealt with personally by our Principal, Stephen Fay. This means you will deal with the same person every time you contact us. This ‘service ethos’ sets us apart from other accountants.
Personal Tax Returns
Our professional and affordable Personal Tax Return service includes the following:
- FREE initial no-obligation consultation
- Fixed fee, agreed in advance (starting from £95 +VAT)
- Ensuring all possible tax reliefs are claimed
- Electronic lodgement of your return & notification of tax due and when
- Advice on how to reduce your future tax bils
- Acting as your Agent with HMRC throughout the tax year
The following outlines how we will work for you to ensure your tax affairs are in order:
FREE initial consultation
This is usually a 10-15 minute telephone chat, maybe a little longer for clients with more complex tax affairs. We will explain our service and answer any questions you may have. We will establish what sources of income and capital you have, and therefore the Tax Return Forms to be completed.
At the end of the conversation we will confirm a fixed fee to act as your Accountant for the year. You may accept this offer over the telephone or ask to think it over – there is no ‘hard sell’ from us! Either way, we will confirm the service and fixed fee in writing.
Information required
We will provide you with a list information we require to deal with your tax affairs (for example, details of income, expenses, tax paid to date), which can be posted, emailed or faxed to us. We will ask you to sign a HM Revenue and Customs form, authorising us to act on your behalf.
Due to new Anti-Money Laundering regulations, we are required to ask new clients to provide two forms of identification.
The Tax Return
The Tax Return will be completed promptly and will include details of all your income, such as salaries, dividends, interest, rental income etc. Allowable deductions (e.g. pension contributions) are offset against income, as well as any tax paid at source.
The copy of the Tax Return, with any supporting schedules, will be sent to you for approval before we file the Tax Return online (usually a brief telephone conversation is adequate to cover any queries).
The Tax Return must be filed with HM Revenue and Customs, along with any tax due, by 31st January after the end of the tax year (e.g. for the tax year ending 5th April 2009, the Tax Return is due by 31st January 2010).
We will also provide a covering letter to outline any tax-savings suggestions which you may want to discuss with us further. Even our ‘smallest’ clients have access to professional advice throughout the year, included as part of the fixed fee.
